Creator Payout Fee Calculator

How much does Patreon take from a creator?

This page can answer part of the question. It works out Patreon's published platform fee on 100, 500, 1,000 and 5,000 US dollars of membership income, and lists the other fees Patreon says it charges for which no number could be read.

Patreon (partial). Only the 10% platform fee could be read. Patreon's pricing page adds: "Plus payment processing, currency conversion, and payout fees, and applicable taxes." Those fees are real but carry no number on the page read, so every row below understates what Patreon deducts. Your Patreon dashboard shows what was actually deducted.

The short answer

Patreon's pricing page shows a platform fee of 10% of what you earn on Patreon: 10.00 US dollars on 100, 50.00 on 500, 100.00 on 1,000 and 500.00 on 5,000. That is the floor, not the total: payment processing and payout fees come on top, and this site could not read their rates.

One payment or many small ones

The platform fee has no fixed part, so it is the same share whether 1,000 US dollars arrives as one payment or as two hundred pledges of 5. The payment processing fee is different: Patreon's Terms of Use (dated May 27, 2026) describe it as a percentage plus a flat fee per successfully processed payment, without stating the numbers. A flat fee per payment weighs most on small pledges, which is where the table above is least complete.

What to charge to keep a round amount

To keep 100 US dollars after the platform fee alone, members have to pay 111.11; to keep 1,000, they have to pay 1,111.11. Because the Patreon figure is partial, the real amounts are higher. The calculator does this for any amount, and the calculator on the Patreon vs Ko-fi page lets you add the processing rate your own dashboard shows.
